A few weeks ago I was honored to photograph Mrs. Claus herself...OK, well maybe not the actual Mrs. Claus, but pretty close. :) Ginger Parkinson is a local and acclaimed storyteller. She tells stories year round, but if you are looking to jazz up your holiday party this year, she's your gal! You can learn more about her Christmas appearances here and listen to some of her fantastic stories here. We are obviously big fans.

Paris World's Fair Wedding Reception

DSC_0239b
Let me start by saying that this was the coolest wedding reception I have ever been to! The attention to detail was amazing, the food was fantastic and naturally, the bride and groom stunning. And the kicker? Hot air balloon rides for all of the guests!!

Some of my favorite features from this reception were: the dining table that spanned the entire field, the old french doors made into tables and filled with foraged items, the sign in quilt, the eclectic china plates, the little flower girls running around in fairy wings and the epic bouquet toss from the hot air balloon (see above photo). Like I said earlier, best wedding reception ever!

And yes, I am still incredibly jealous of the photographer who shot the bride and groom!

Emily & Brian

DSC_9662

Now here are some faces you have seen here before, my sister Emily and her husband Brian. You might remember seeing their one year anniversary photos, engagements or other images of Emily throughout the life of my blog.

The happy couple was married in May of last year in the Salt Lake Temple. Being the bride's sister, I especially enjoyed photographing the wedding day. The ceremony was beautiful and I cried like a baby. :) Afterwards we had perfect weather. Because theirs was the last temple sealing of the day, we ended up having most of Temple Square to ourselves! If you have ever been there, you understand that this is a big deal. On any given day (other than Sunday) you can spot at least three newlyweds walking around.

It's a little funny writing this post practically a year and a half after their big day, but I have to say that I am still so happy for them. They are so well suited for each other and Brian just continues to impress me. I love them both!
