It’s Photoshop. On the Web. From Adobe. (p.s. It’s pretty great.)

Today, Adobe releases Photoshop Express for the web.

Now before you go berserk, let us exercise some journalistic caution — it’s not everything you can do in Photoshop fit into a web browser. Not nearly.

No layers here, no fancy pants masking. But for 95% of your photos, it offers pretty much all you need to fix ‘em up, and it does it with style.

Whether adjusting exposure, white balance, or hue, touching up blemishes, or distorting your image, Photoshop Express provides an easy slider and thumbnails to give you an instant preview of your image at various settings. Even undo is better than you’d expect.

No, it’s not a Photoshop replacement, but it is a remarkably slick and well-designed basic photo-editing and sharing application. Arguably the best so far.

So what does it cost? It’s free, amigo.

Wow! This is not the same as real Photoshop, but still pretty cool! You should check it out.

Field Trip Thursday

On my days off from work lately I have been taking myself on photo field trips. These are from the sweet abandoned house that I found during my wanderings. You know me and old junk. Only one problem...I chickened out and decided I could not go into the creepy house alone. No worries though, because I am planning a return visit with a buddy. I tried out some new Photoshop magic on these and thought it fit the tone pretty well. What do you think?

Free tacos!!!

Well, hello! I know, I know, it’s been a good month since have given any sort of update here. And actually some major changes have taken place. I took a new job working at FORTHGEAR about two weeks ago. I also moved to Layton with my friend Stephanie around that time. It’s a lot of fun living with Steph and what can I say, life in the taco trailer is great! Kidding!! Sorry for the false “free tacos” claim. We don’t live in that amazing trailer. We finally found a cute two bedroom townhouse with washer and dryer. Great rent too! So far we love it! Especially because, living here makes both of our commutes to work only about five or six minutes. Speaking of… I better jet. Here is a photo from one of my recent fieldtrips though. I will post some others soon. Enjoy!

For Rent

Since coming home after Christmas, my friend Stephanie and I have been trying really hard to find a nice place to live. For a while there we were looking in the avenues. Which if you are not familiar with, are the historic homes near temple square that have been restored. We found this beautiful mansion there: all wood floors, three bedrooms with a master that could fit at least three, a spiral wooden staircase in the front, another staircase in the back, huge skylights, beautiful cast doorknobs, window seats, stained glass, fireplace, what lies beneath tub in one bath and a big jet tub in the other, Italian marble, and even a hidden room with lights and seat when you swung the bookcase back – just like in the old scary movies! It was amazing and even semi in our price range if we had three people splitting the rent. Unfortunately they decided they only wanted two and we can not pay that much each. I almost cried over it! We also don’t have any furniture so the old mansion would really have been shamed with our cardboard boxes for chairs.

Yesterday Steph and I once again set out to find the perfect place…only to find these horrors! This one with its three stolen shopping carts and beer bottles decorating the heaps of cast off furniture, we found too terrifying to even venture into.

Then it was on to the ghetto apartments that hosted what Steph termed to be the, “taco trailer.” We are still quite convinced that the grizzly looking tenets must use it at night to rake in a little extra rent money.

So this is my question…does anyone know of a reasonable place to rent in Bountiful or north Salt Lake? Does one such place exist?

Wishing I Had Heat

It is 50 degrees in my apartment right now. No I am not exaggerating! That is the actual temperature. I am well bundled with the oven open and on at 475. This seems to be helping some, but the repair man can’t come until tomorrow afternoon. In the mean time I think I am perfecting the art of typing with gloves.

On a better note, I feel that I should announce that I love Fred and have for a while now. They have the cleverest products. These are some of my favorites:

For Sadie the Baker Extraordinare

I was thinking about you today Sadie, and how much weight I gained at home due to your excessive yet exemplary cookie baking and my lack of control! So I thought I would post some pictures from December. No one eat that last cookie! I mean it!! She will make more!
